If you’re looking to reduce penile plaque, I have some good news for you.
You can put the toothbrush down. It’s not that kind of plaque.
The bad news is it’s about as common and as serious as that kind of plaque.
Here’s what you can do about it.
What is Penile Plaque? Why Does it Matter?
Your blood stream is important to the health of your penis, because erections happen from increased blood flow to your unit.
Strong blood flow cleans the blood vessels out, delivers vital nutrients, and stretches the tissues responsible for erection.
Short version: good blood flow means more frequent, bigger, harder boners and increased general health for your junk.
But your blood doesn’t just carry good stuff…
It carries a little bit of everything you eat, including the bad fats we hear so much about.
Those substances accumulate on the surface of your blood vessels, eventually restricting blood flow.
Poor blood flow means less frequent, less powerful erections.
It can limit the maximum size of your erect penis. It can cause other sexual health issues.
Lucky for you and your penis, you’re not helpless in the face of penile plaque buildup.
Here are a few powerful steps you can take to clean out the works and get your junk back on track.
1. Lose Some Weight
Back in 2011, scientists at Ben-Gurion University in Israel published a paper in the journal Circulation.
Their study looked at 140 people between 40 and 65 years old who were overweight, and who had either heart disease or type 2 diabetes (source).
They had the subject lose 12 pounds and checked in two years later, looking specifically for arterial plaque and blood pressure.
In subjects who successfully lost and kept off 12 pounds or more, they saw reduced arterial plaque and normalized blood pressure.
For some reason, those who lost less than 12 pounds didn’t see those benefits.
Of course, losing 10 pounds is good for you anyway, so you should do this whether or not you reach that 12-pound threshold.
It doesn’t much matter how you lose the weight for purposes of achieving this.
The study found the same result regardless of the weight-loss method.
However, keep a few tips in mind:
- This only works if you’re overweight. Skinny people get unhealthier when they lose more weight.
- High-impact training, sprints, and power lifting build testosterone while you work out, which helps your penis in other ways.
- Avoid prepackaged diet foods, as they contain all kinds of boner-killing chemicals.
- NO FAD DIETS! These wreak havoc with your system while you’re losing weight, and you usually pack it right back on after you quit.
2. Drink Pomegranate Juice
Pomegranate juice, it turns out, helps to both remove existing penile plaque and prevent how much builds up in the first place.
This is because of its impact on Nitric Oxide (NO) production in your endothelial cells.
NO is a relaxant, making your arteries and smaller blood vessels relax. This means healthy circulation in two ways:
First, relaxed blood vessels have faster blood flow, so more blood gets where it needs to more quickly and efficiently.
Second, less plaque collects on the relaxed walls than on hardened, stiff blood vessel tissue.
With less NO to go around, arterial plaque catches in the corners, and stays there because blood flow nearby isn’t fast enough to wash it clean.
With plenty of NO, the blood flow washes plaque off the arterial walls, and the flexible, relaxed tissue accumulates less plaque over time.
Guess what supports and improves your body’s ability to produce NO? That’s right: pomegranate juice.
A 2006 study (2) conducted at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA found that daily serving of pomegranate juice directly improved NO production and uptake, meaning it’s at the very least indirectly good for your sexual health.
But wait! There’s more!
Two years later, an Israeli study found a daily dose of pomegranate juice reduced arterial plaque by as much at 35% in human test subjects (3).
Which means it’s directly effective against penile plaque, too!
3. Take Magnesium and Vitamin K2 Supplements
Supplements are part of any complete approach to health and wellness, and your sexual health is no exception to this rule.
In particular, magnesium and vitamin K2 will help remove and resist buildups of penile plaque.
Magnesium targets accumulation of calcium plaque on arterial walls. Boston-based researchers found a 50-milligram dose each day reduced arterial plaque by up to 22% (4).
Vitamin K2 protects your soft tissues (including arterial walls) from calcification because it’s one of the building blocks for the Matrix GLA protein, which prevents hardening and calcification of tissues.
Both supplements aren’t just good for reducing arterial plaque.
The way they fight penile plaque is excellent for your overall circulatory health, which I hope I don’t need to tell you is also pretty important.
4. Use the Linus Pauling Protocol
Linus Pauling was a Nobel-prize-winning doctor who spent the last decades of his life examining how vitamins impacted cardiovascular health.
Near the end of his life, he developed a specific protocol to help fight heart disease (5).
Because your erectile health depends on solid cardiovascular health, the same protocol can fight penile plaque. Here’s the short version:
Take vitamin C, L-Lysine and L-Proline daily.
Here’s the long version:
Collagen is one of the major materials your body uses to build its tissues.
If your body isn’t producing enough collagen as you age, it starts to replace the collagen with calcium.
Calcium hardens arterial walls, which accumulate more plaque more quickly.
So take those three supplements, along with your magnesium and vitamin K2, to supercharge your overall cardiovascular health, and the health of your penis while you’re at it.
Aim for 3 grams daily of the C and the L-Lysine, and 1.5 grams of the L-Proline, for maximum benefits.
Reduce Penile Plaque – Conclusion:
Penile plaque is a natural part of your body’s aging process, but it happens faster and more severely if you’re not careful about your cardiovascular health.
If you’ve been taking less care than you maybe should have, using some or all of the above methods can help get your circulatory system back to ship-shape.
As a bonus, it’s pretty good for the rest of your body too. You’ll feel better, live longer, and have better, stronger, harder, easier erections. It’s a win-win.
