Does girth matter?
From my perspective, most men are more interested in length than anything else.
Over time, this preference has become echoed in media, pornography, and culture.
Now it seems that no matter where we turn, all we hear about is inches. But what about girth?
Are rumors true that it plays a bigger role in sexual pleasure than length?
The answer is yes, but there’s a bit more to it than that. Let’s get started.
Length vs. Girth
When we measure ourselves, we men always go straight to the ruler.
We simply can’t wait to see how we measure up, whether we’re taking part in an enlargement routine or not.
At the same time, we go through our lives terrified of being caught with “shrinkage” or otherwise being “short-changed” by an unexpected glance.
However, we sometimes get so obsessed with the length of our penises that we forget about a big reason penis size matters in the first place: sexual performance.
And if you’d take the time to ask the average woman, they’ll tell you that while length is nice to look at, it’s girth that actually impacts her sexual satisfaction.
Why Women Prefer Girth
It should go without saying that every individual woman will have her own opinions on sexual pleasure.
After all, what works for one woman won’t always work for another.
However, if we could speak generally on the topic, the way men and women are built direct supports the idea of girth being more important for the “Big O.”
You see, most men tend to think that pleasing a woman has a lot to do with the clitoris (and they’d be right).
However, the clitoris is so much more than just that one little “love button.”
It’s actually an internal organ that expands backward along both sides of the vaginal opening.
This means the pelvic floor and walls of her vaginal canal are also highly sensitive to stimulation.
The keyword women tend to use to describe what they’re looking for is “pressure.”
Specifically, we’re talking about the sort of pressure that comes from your penis making stronger contact with her vaginal walls.
Obviously, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realize that sort of pressure is better achieved by a penis with more circumference.
Average Girth Size
Of course, women haven’t been particularly shy about their girth preferences.
In recent years, with the topic being the subject of endless magazine articles, sex surveys, and listicles.
On the other hand, men rarely know what the girth of their penis is, let alone how they measure up to the average man on the street.
In terms of girth, the average man will boast between 3.5 and 3.9 inches flaccid, and roughly 4.7 inches when erect.
As you may already know this is coupled with an erect length of anywhere between 4.7 to 6.3 inches.
And as you might expect, there are plenty of penises out there that under or over perform in both categories.
To see where you stand in terms of girth, you can either use a flexible measuring tape, such as those used by tailors, or a piece of string.
Wrap your tool of choice around the thickest part of your own tool (while fully erect), and take the measurement or measure the string.
Ideal Girth Size
Whenever men discuss matters such as this, we tend to go looking for concrete answers.
For instance, you might currently be wondering if there is an ideal girth size that you should be shooting for.
However, there’s no “magic measurement” for penis circumference that will allow for maximized pleasure for both parties.
Moreover, if there were such a number, it would be different for pretty much every woman.
That said, there have been plenty of studies done on the topic to give men some idea of what their partners expect.
For instance, one 2014 study asked women to choose the ideal features of partners with whom they might have a one-night stand.
Afterward, they were asked to do the same for someone with whom they might have a long-term relationship.
During the tests, women were asked to handle various 3D printed “penises” ranging between 4 inches and 8.5 inches long and 2.5 inches and 7 inches in circumference.
There were a total of 33 penis models used in all. Nearly all the women selected penises with larger girths when a one-night stand was on the table.
Interestingly enough, the length of the penis selected did not change along with the proposed relationship status.
This seems to indicate that women who are in the mood for a thrilling night feel they would have a better chance of pleasure if the partner’s penis were thicker.
Clearly, this is corroborated by what we’ve already discussed about anatomy.
While having a longer penis does contribute to her visual arousal, she will simply be more likely to leave a sex session happy if the man has a thicker member.
How to Get More Girth
Knowing what you now know about girth and female sexual pleasure, you might be a little disappointed if you did your first measurement to find yourself unsatisfied with the results.
Fortunately, men who underperform in the girth department do have options.
In the following section, I’ll outline the best techniques for gaining girth.
But before we go into that, I want to remind you of perhaps the most important aspect of any penis enlargement routine: the warm-up.
If you remember one thing, it should be that failing to properly warm-up can lead to injuries and strains, which will significantly hinder your progress.
Try Using V-Jelqs and Side Jelqs
Jelqing is a common exercise for increasing penis length, but V-Jelqs are more focused on building girth.
The technique is more or less identical to that of a standard jelq, but you alternate the direction in which you pull your penis.
You should perform this exercise while no more than 30% erect, and aim to work up to around 30 repetitions of straight, left, and right.
Side jelqs operate on a similar principle.
However, you’re going to perform these while you’re about 80% erect.
This is basically a two-handed jelq that only goes to the middle of your shaft. Once there, you need to alternate bending your penis at a 45-degree angle to either side.
Getting fast gains from this exercise is all about your hardness level, so be sure to monitor it closely.
Consider Wearing a Cock Ring
Most of the exercises I’m going to mention here require active participation, so you’ll need to actually plan time to do them in your day.
Wearing a cock ring, on the other hand, is a great passive way to increase the thickness of your member.
That said, you can’t just start wearing a cock ring one day – you’ll need to work up to it.
Cock rings work by trapping blood in your penis and holding it erect.
Doing so for extended periods of time forces the tissues in your penis to break down and then heal themselves. Again, this isn’t for beginners.
You need to take the ring off frequently and allow blood flow to return, and you should never wear it for more than 8 hours at a time.
Horse Squeezes and Ulis
Both of these techniques involve squeezing the penis to trap blood and stretch the penis.
In the case of Ulis, you’ll want to get your penis to maximum hardness. Once achieved, grip your penis at the base with your thumb on top.
You’ll then want to hold that for a 30 -second count. Like the cock ring but much safer, this keeps blood in your penis and allows the tissues to stretch.
Another more advanced technique for adding girth is called a Horse Squeeze.
You might cringe a bit when you hear the name, and I should admit this one can cause some discomfort.
You want to be around 90% erect and well-lubed, and very slowly force blood through your penis via a two-handed grip.
You can find a full explanation of all of these exercises (with step-by-step instructions) here.
I highly recommend you read up on these exercises before attempting any of them, even if they seem easy.
Does Girth Matter – Conclusion:
Remember, it’s called “cocky” for a reason.
That is to say, we all love the confidence boost we get from having a penis worth showing off.
In fact, this is one of the main reasons men get into penis enlargement in the first place.
However, when it comes to pleasing your mate, length has to take a back seat to girth.
Like it or not, it’s just a product of the way men and women are designed.
Fortunately, those lacking in the girth department, or who simply want to get a thicker, meatier looking member, have many options to consider.
Just remember that any enlargement routine requires a commitment.
Stick to it, and you’ll have a great chance of being the man she brags about to all her friends.
